The Church

The Church is a vital organism not confined by bricks or buildings. It is the changed heart at work in the world to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

The Church is an oasis where the thirsty are rescued, restored and refreshed.  It is not a destination but a way station and transfer hub for the love we receive to be sent back to work in the world. We build the church not for our own convenience but to achieve the goals of Christ. John Wesley observed wisely the goal of the Christ like person should be to “Make all you can, save all you can, give all you can”

It is not to be horded but constantly spent. As John Wesley himself said so eloquently:

"Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”

And at another time he noted, "we are very concerned by the conditions of our neighbors."    Thus the church provides food for the journey of life, companions for the passages of living, and comfort in the dark nights of fear or trial.

Jesus Christ calls to us to follow Him...to roll up our sleeves and get busy in helping, caring, and loving our world to show them God's concern and desire for their life.

The  beauty of it is when we set ourselves on fire for God, the world will come to watch us burn. But, oh what a marvelous blaze!
